skincare: part 03

i have ran out of things to blog about, so i shall continue with my skincare routine.. ^-^

Eyes

(left to right): Origins Plantidote™ Mega-Mushroom Eye Serum, Origins A Perfect World™ for Eyes & Clarins Eye Contour Gel

until recently, these 3 are what i have been using.the Clarins eye contour gel had been my staple eye product for the past few years as it really helps with my puffy eyes, and i usually use it in the morning or when i need to calm my puffy eyelids.

those who knew me well, knows that whenever i get a fever or when i eat panadol, my eyes will swell like a goldfish, or when i take a afternoon nap, sometimes my eyelids will have a little red swell (it looks as if a mosquito took a bite of my eyelid). the Clarins eye gel will come in handy then. this works like a ice pack for my poor eyelids and after like 1/2 hour my swelling will reduce significantly.

the 2 Origins eye product were samples (15ml & 5ml respectively) and i only use them at night as they are richer. and maybe because they are so rich for my eye areas that i developed milla seeds.. -__-"" so, at the moment i am using Modern Beauty skin whitening eye gel given by the skin consultant.

Lips

(left to right): The Body Shop Mango Lip Butter & Vitamin E Lip Care Stick SPF 15

the 1st product was bought many years back (and i really think i should chuck this out already!) when i was taking oral medication for my acne. the medication made my skin/hair really really dry and my lips peel. my lips were peeling so badly that i even have to apply a thick coat of the lip butter every night prior sleeping, if not, the next morning i'll have to suffer big time..

now that i have stopped taking the medication (i have stopped for about 3years already), i do not apply the lip butter at night and since then, the lip butter has been collecting dust on my dressing table.

but i do apply lip balm every morning without fail. at the moment i am using the The Body Shop SPF 15 lip balm. after lipbalm then do i apply any other lip products (ie lip gloss). the lips need sun protection too!!

i think i shall stop here for now..

to sidetrack abit, its almost the end of september...2008 is creeping up on us!!

korean girl group part 3

more clips on korean girl groups... this time presenting Brown Eyed Girls (aka B.E.G.) and Black Pearl. they are not my fave girl groups, my fave being SeeYa and Wonder Girls, but these girl group ain't that bad too! well, at least i prefer them to many other korean girl groups!

for B.E.G. they already have 2 ablums produced, but so far, only 1 track has attracted me. Black Pearl has only debuted recently (if i'm not wrong, they barely debuted for a month) and so far, i have only heard 1 of they song and its GOOD!

both groups consists of 4 girls, for B.E.G. 3 singers and 1 rapper, and Black Pearl all are singers. in the group Black Pearl, i like the husky voices of the 2 of the 4 girls! don't ask me why, but it seems that i have a "thing" for husky voices... haha..

enjoy~

what's on my toes?

because my class was cancelled today, so i had alot of free time in my hands, so i decided to pamper myself and do a mini pedicure... after a few failed tries, i finally settled on this design.. its simple and fuss free. furthermore, it only took me less than 2 mins! haha..

my 10 (ugly) toes

zoom on my 2 big toes

what did i use?

  • Kiss Base & Top Coat (CP from Japan)
  • Gold Glitter Powder (bought from Kinokuniya for $1.90)
  • Flower Nail Stickers (a gift from my friend)

to my disappointment, the gold glitters didn't look obvious from far, can only see when its up close... but i don't think anyone will bend all the way down to see my toes... -__-" maybe the gllitter will look more obvious under bright lights!

i wanted to stick 2 layers of the nail stickers to make the flowers more 3D, but i didn't want to waste them espcially they are a gift from my dear friend, huijing aka evon aka mama who bought this from her trip to HK! so i have to use them sparingly.. and i only took them out to use today.. hope they can last a long long time!

enjoy your day everyone!

what did i buy today?

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Moisturizing Body Oil

A lightly scented Body Oil with Vitamin E. Helps moisturize and soothe rough, dry skin without greasiness. This fast-absorbing Body Oil may be applied after shower or bath or poured directly in the bath. Features a flip-top cap for easy application.

yet to use it, hope that it will be better than if not, as good as the Clarins Satin Finish Body Oil. the Palmer's oil cost $20++ while the Clarins oil cost $50++. i got the Clarins oil as a gift with purchase and i really love it! it absorbs fast, smells great, not coying and that the skin feels so soft and satiny! but the price is a little steep, so i have to settle for the Palmer's oil for the time being..

wait for me Clarins Satin Finish Body Oil!! i will come and get you soon.. haha.. i am a little zany, i know that.. lol

ratatouille~~~

ratatouille anyone??

bf and i popped over to Vivo City Golden Village to watch this rodent movie! to my surprise, the movie Q is sooo freaking long!! thank goodness that i have predicted that it might be crowded today, i have already bought my tickets online using my supplementary credit card.

total damage (not including popcorn & drink) is $15.20. $14 for 2 tickets, $1 for booking charge and $0.20 for sms alert.

how was the movie?! in a few words, it was humorous, slightly touching, and of course, rat-ty! it was a $15.20 well spent! totally enjoyed every minute of the movie and the short animation before the actual movie is funny and entertaining! ^-^ its one of the better movies i watched this year, much better than the mr bean movie!

as much as i like this movie, it doesn't soften my view about housing a rat in my home nor would i want a rodent to cook my meals!

what's next? cockroachatouille(cockroach-a-too-ee)? or lizardatouille (lizard-a-too-ee)?? :p

skincare part 2

sorry to keep you waiting, here's skincare part number 2! long post ahead!

° · ~ night ~ · °

FANCL Mild Cleansing Oil

this is my staple makeup remover for the past 2 years! i use this to remove my foundation, eyeshadow, waterproof mascara, lip gloss, etc! this is especially good for lazy people like me, who wants to remove all junk (ie cosmetics) from the face with just one product, no need for a separate eye and lip remover! just massage the cleansing oil all over the face (eyes and lips too), add some water to emulsify, then just splash water to wash everything off! and it doesn't leave the skin feeling tight! plus the skin feels soft!!

after using this cleansing oil, i will still use a cleanser, which is actually not needed. but i like to double cleanse, so as to be sure that my skin is really clean and free from any "residue" (ie makeup).

(left to right) Kanebo Blanchir Make Off Conditioner; Blanchir Whitening Clay Wash

on days that i don't put on makeup, i still double cleanse at night. first with the make off conditioner then with the whitening clay wash. the make off conditioner is actually a cleansing oil, and the method of use is exactly the same as the Fancl's Cleansing Oil.

the only troublesome thing with this make off conditioner is that, it cannot remove waterproof mascara and i think it also cannot be used as lip makeup remover (i have to check with the SA again).

following the make off conditioner, is the clay wash. i use it together with a foaming ball to make the cleanser very foamy and massage it around my face and neck, paying particular attention to the nose and cheek area.

what i love about this 2 products is that, despite double cleansing, my skin doesn't feel taut at all! and also, my skin looks brighter and clearer too!!

Blanchir Whitening Clear Conditioner; Blanchir Whitening Milky Conditioner

up next is the clear conditioner. pour a bit of the clear conditioner on to a cotton pad and pat it over entire face. this is not a toner but a moisturiser, if i am not wrong, there's no toner in this range. i suppose, since i already double cleanse, the skin should be rather clean, so there's no need for a toner. after using this, the skin looks even brighter!! (it might be due to my imagination, hehehe ^-^) i will pat more of this on my cheeks as the skin there is more dehydrated.

finally, is the milky conditioner which is a moisturiser too! pour a bit onto my palm and then spread it over entire face and more on my cheeks. i not sure whether the ingredients include any alcohol in the moisturisers, but i don't smell any strong alcohol smell (my Origins United States toner smells very strongly of alochol!!), and since the trial set i got didn't include the ingredients list, i have no way of finding out.

don't ask me why this range is so troublesome, have to double cleanse and double moisturise.. i'm just following the instructions. i am rather pleased with the results, so i don't mind the trouble of following so many steps! my skin does not feel oily nor sticky and is sufficiently hydrated!the best thing is that, i wake up the next morning with soft, bright skin! but with occasional some pimples as well.. ;p well, never mind that!

sidetrack a little, i got this Blanchir range as a gift with purchase (generous trial size samples 15ml - 25ml each) when i bought my Lunasol base makeup months ago and i just started using it early this month. i have being using them almost every night and i can say that i am quite happy with them. so, there's a high possibility that i will have to part with approximately $300 to get some basic products from this range. the products from this range is about $59 - $79...

very expensive right?! but if this range works well, then i will have no choice but to part with my hard-saved money... who ask me to be so vain.. if i were born with good skin (like my dear cousin) i wouldn't have to spend a bomb on skincare and such..

but whether i will really buy the products will depend... i still have quite a lot of samples from Shiseido, some samples from Clarins and YSL.. so after using these 3 brands, i will make a final decision on which brand to get. hopefully, this products can last me until early next year! but i guess its fat hope as my Blanchir is finishing up soon and the other samples are quite small (each about 5ml only)....

on my quest for beautiful skin!
