Shoes

I really didn't planned on getting a pair of new shoes, but the circumstances made me spent on it. The reason being very simple, the pair of shoes that I worn that day was spoilt, and it didn't become apparent until I felt this strange tugging sensation when I was walking, then did I realise that the back of the heel and the shoe has separated. Just like a opened mouth... -_-"

So I had no other choice but to either drag my feet for the whole day or to get a pair of new shoes, and of course I wouldn't choose to drag my feet!

My new shoes are sure pretty aren't they?! The design are newspaper prints. And they are very comfy! Worth the price ($66!!!).

Etude House Sweet Appleade Body Scrub

Sometime back, Etude House released a series of body care products called the Sweet Appleade, which consists of body scrub, slim body gel, foot spray, body wash and body lotion. This range is quite affordable, the prices ranging from W4,500 to W7,000.

I was interested in the body scrub and foot spray, but I got only the body scrub because the foot spray isn't a overseas shipping item. How unfortunate for me....

My bear is cute isn't it?! He's soooo adorable~!

Etude House claims that the product eliminates excess residue deep from the skin with natural walnut shell scrub, the body scrub protects the skin with Vitamin E capsule, various fruit extracts and a fresh green apple scent.

The active ingredients are orange, lemon, bilberry, sugar cane and sugar maple extracts.

The scrub is the liquid kind and the texture of the beads are quite round (so its quite gentle on the skin), not the rough scratchy kinds, so the texture really suits my sensitive skin well. I can't use abrasive scrubs (most sugar scrubs or salt scrubs don't suit me) as they leave my skin red and abused. This scrub washes off easily, leaving my skin smooth and soft (not too sure my skin got any brighter though).

As stated above, the body scrub contains walnut shells and Vitamin E capsules, which I think might be the tiny round green beads (I don't really see many of them though) which disappears after I start to scrub around.

It does really smell like green apple, sweet green apple not the sour kind. :D The smell is not too overpowering (when used in the shower) and it lingers for only a while on the skin after washing off. I would prefer if the scent can last longer though.

Overall, I think I most probably will repurchase this scrub unless I find a better (and cheap) one.

Quick hi!

I actually planned to do review on the Banila Co. Eye Love Lash Essence but eversince my eyes were acting funny I stopped using it but nevertheless, once my eyes are better, I will start to use it again. (My eye was red again yesterday -__-"")

That aside, can someone recommend me a mascara that holds the curl well, doesn't smudge, gives volume and/or length??

I haven't got much luck with mascaras lately.. Most of the new ones I tried doesn't hold the curl well, or should I say, they doesn't even hold the curl at all! For those new mascaras I've tried, upon application they almost immediately made my curled lashes straight again!!!! Arrghh!

Review: Banila Co it fresh Sensitive Lip & Eye Make Up Remover

As I've promised, a review on Banila Co item(s). Let's start with the it fresh Sensitive Lip & Eye Make Up Remover, and if I don't remember wrongly, it doesn't cost more than $10 (Sing dollars).

The product is as clear as water and not the bi-phase (water below and a layer of oil floating on top) kind which I prefer. When I opened up the box and saw it wasn't bi-phase, I had a gut feeling that it wouldn't remove my waterproof mascara! Which it didn't and not a slight bit of my mascara came off! -_-"

The product has a weird smell, which I don't really find it horrible but just plain weird and the texture is like oily-water (don't think that makes any sense), but the water is a bit oily but not the cleansing oil oily.

It decently removes my eye make up except for my waterproof mascara (currently I'm using Fasio) but I don't find it gentle enough for sensitive eyes. I don't understand korean words but I would presume that it is suitable for sensitive because of the word "sensitive" printed on the box and the bottle. It stings a tiny bit when it gets into my eyes but it does not cause my eyes to turn red.

Currently, I'm using it as my daily eye and lip make up remover but I follow up with the Beautymaker Eye Make Up remover to clean off my waterproof mascara.

If you ask me, I will not repurchase. I rather spend $30 on a RMK Eye Make Up Remover, which I've tried and I looooove it! Removes everything (yesh! Even my stubborn Fasio mascara) easily and leaves my eye lids feeling soothe! Unless my Kanebo Eye Make Up Remover works better, then I will be buying the RMK's!

Medical Appointment

This morning I had a medical appointment at the National Eye Centre. Nothing serious, just that I have some atopic syndrome (allergic hypersensitivity) that kept on bothering my eye, making them red and/or itchy, etc.

I was told (by another doctor) that its all in a "package", usually involving eczema, allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis and asthma. I have of them except of eczema. -___-"" Dreadful isit?

So I just went to the eye centre to have my eyes throughly checked, making sure that my eyes are misbehaving because of allergy and nothing more. :)

Despite having made a appointment, the wait was quite long. I had to wait like 45 minutes for my turn to do the pre-consultation evaluation tests. Although it was barely nine in the morning, the human traffic there was already rather heavy, mostly elderly patients accompanied by the children or spouses or middle-aged adults. Soon after the evaluation tests, I managed to see the consultant, and more checks are done on my eyes.

All in all, within a short few hours visit there, I spent a total of $46/-. $31 on the evaluation tests and consultation, $15 on a bottle of eye drop!!!! Very expensive! Almost fainted.

But looking on the brighter side of things, its lucky that I only have to pay the subsidised amount. The full rate for the evaluation tests and consultation are a whopping $74!
I finally finally managed to enable the comments by editing the html! Woohoo~!

Gmarket Haul

As promised! A post about my Gmarket haul on a Sunday morning!

I've been really really well behaving! Only bought very little stuffs.. Lol~ See see! My EMS box is so small!

First up, I finally bought my first pair of shoes from Gmarket! I bought a pair of flats actually. Its not very expensive, maybe around $11 (Sing dollars) without shipping cost.

Looks cute isn't it?!

Unfortunately, as much as I like this pair of flats, the size I selected is half a size too small! -_-"" I can still wear it, but it squeezes my big and small toes a lot! Not only that, it also causes my feet to blister at the back! As it is too small, I can only rub some Vaseline hoping that it will soften up soon!
Usually, if it hurts at the back, I will stick a heel liner to avoid further abrasion, but the shoe needs to be slightly looser in order the fit my feet and the heel liner! So this time, I can only put a plaster instead... My feet are still sporting the "war marks" ie blisters at the back... So freaking ugly!!

Anyhow, its lucky that the flats didn't cost much, so my heart isn't paining that badly. It still can be worn, but just not during shopping trips.

The shoe itself is not made of the softest material and the soles of the shoes are very smooth meaning that it can actually get quite slippery when walking on smooth surfaces or on a wet floor. Not recommended for people with two left feet and certainly not to be worn on a rainy day.

I'm not sure if I've said it in the past, but I have always wanted to get my paws on the Clinicare haircare! After searching local drugstores and prowling through local Japanese drugstores, the famous Ocean shop at Chinatown and adambeauty.com, I gave up! Clinicare could not be spotted at any of these places.

But thank goodness, there's always Gmarket to count on! Ta da~ I finally got my paws on Clinicare shampoo, conditioner and etc~~ ^-^ (Will give a proper review another time)

This time, I also gotten some more Banila Co stuffs~!

  • Cotton puffs
  • de la Couture Moisture Body Lotion
  • it fresh Sensitive Lip & Eye Make Up Remover
  • Prime Primer
  • Kiss Essence SPF 10
  • Eye Love Lash Essence
  • Eye Love Gel Eyeliner in black
  • Oil Blotters

The GWPs I've got are:-

  • Banila Co paper bag
  • Love holic Pearl Mascara
  • Lip palette (sample)
  • Prime Primer x3 sachets
  • IPKIN White Success Chiffon Mask
  • Enprani XXX?? (should be a toner, don't understand the korean words on the bottle)
  • LacVert Skin Fitness Firming Softener

When I bought some of the Banila Co stuffs, I was intending to give them as gifts, so I will not be unsealing or trying them, so no reviews for those!

So far, I've only tried the Lip & Eye Make Up Remover, Lash Essence, Gel Eyeliner and Oil Blotters. I will try to give them a proper review another time. In summary, I think that they are nothing fantastic, just normal but the gel eyeliner really disappointed me! KATE gel eyeliner wins hands down!

Some close up pictures on the products and GWPs....

Sneak Peek

I am so lagging behind in my posts! My latest Gmarket haul and arrived and I have yet to blog about the haul before it!

Anyways, I just finished editing the pictures, so most probably I will blog about it tomorrow morning =D

Lastly, here's a sneak peek of the haul I am going to write about tomorrow!

I am so tired... Dragged my tired body to work early in this morning.. The life of my accountant (or in my case, an accounts executive) is sure pathetic... Always busy at the beginning and at the end of the month :~(
